This past Wednesday, HLTA, Star Events, and the Hawai‘i Restaurant Association hosted the third annual Hawai‘i Hotel & Restaurant Show at the Hawai‘i Convention Center, and I am happy with the growth of the event, not to mention excited by the momentum that we’ve built going into 2024.
Over two days, thousands of hospitality professionals walked the tradeshow floor, learned, networked, ate and drank. I got a bunch of positive feedback and have copious ideas for next year’s show.
We were fortunate to have both Mayor Rick Blangiardi and Senate Tourism Chair Lynn DeCoite take part in the opening ceremony and offer remarks that set the tone for two-day tradeshow before they spent time on the exhibition floor meeting exhibitors and attendees alike. Their participation in events like the tradeshow underscores their understanding of tourism’s importance to the local community and economy. House Tourism Chair Sean Quinlan, Senator Glenn Wakai, and Representative Scott Nishimoto and newly-appointed Representative Trish La Chica all spent quality time with us and were interested and engaged with everyone they interacted with.
